The man behind the social media...

You won't see much of him, because he likes to be the other side of the camera, but our social guy Luis recently entered the Mark Gunter Photographer of The Year Awards...

Luis works hard to make sure we are regularly talking to our customers and potential customers and anyone who will listen to him go on about cycling really, you may not even realise you're speaking to Luis as he likes to stay faceless...

If he has an idea, we let him get out and get on with it and take his lead, allowing him to work in a way that helps us all. A lot of the imagery you see used for VeloSkin is shot by Luis, but that's not to say we restrict ourselves from using anyone else, but it's a good way for us to work effectively and to help Luis develop, too.

In the last year in particular however, Luis has really stepped up his game with the images he has produced and we can attest to just how much effort he has put in. He is now a drone pilot too and likes to work with video as well, which you've probably seen without even realising!

You may have already seen it, but Luis was rewarded for his hard work with second place in the Enthusiast category for the awards with his fantastic photo of Alex Dowsett during the World Championships in Yorkshire in September 2019.

Luis entered 5 photos, and was shortlisted by all 3 judges for this photo; Chris Auld, Simon Wilkinson and Pauline Ballet, whom are all well respected and incredibly talented photographers, which was an achievement on its own.

Following the shortlist, Luis was awarded 2nd place overall, which is incredible when you consider that over 1200 photos were submitted from 36 countries!

We're really proud of Luis and the way he manages things for us and this reward is throughly deserved. Congratulations Luis, from Chris, Chris and Andy!
