FAQ

Are your products suitable for women?

Absolutely! Every single one of our products is for every single cyclist or endurance athlete out there. We have female specific products in R&D and once we're satisfied that they match our current standards, they'll be made available for sale.

If you're interested in testing these products for us, drop us a line! We would stress some caution when using the Soothing Gel however, please be careful when applying to sensitive areas.

Are your products good for sensitive skin?

Whilst we can say yes, with care and attention put into the formulation process, we realise there are varying degrees of sensitivity for all types of skin. We have excellent feedback from customers with sensitive skin however. You can get samples of our chamois cream and soothing gel and we still advise you to patch test any products at your own risk.

What is chamois cream for?

Keeping you comfortable in the saddle. Ultimately, when you sweat and move in the saddle, there is potential for friction to cause discomfort in the form of saddle sores. They can be pretty gruesome and even with the best will in the world, a good bike fit, the most expensive shorts and a custom saddle, you could still be prone to being uncomfortable. We think of ourselves as a preventative but necessary measure.

Will your chamois cream ruin my bib shorts?

No. As part of our testing, we applied  it to many pairs of shorts, washed and applied again, and found no long lasting damage to any shorts we used. You may find that your chamois pad wears out over time, but it isn't as a result of our product.

How long does your chamois cream last?

If you mean on a ride, we've extensively tested it and one good dollop of chamois cream can comfortably last over 160km+, but there's nothing to stop you reapplying if you're planning to ride longer. See our handy travel sachets for easy carry-sized versions.

If you mean how long should a tin last, that depends how much you ride! Typically we see 1 tin (150ml) last between 4-8 week for a regular rider (roughly 125 miles per week).

Can I use chamois cream when training indoors?

Yes! It's probably even more important to apply for indoor training than riding outside! On the trainer, you are probably seated for longer, pedalling for longer and getting hotter for longer. All of which are the perfect conditions to become uncomfortable. Check out our blog for tips on comfortable indoor riding.

Your chamois cream smells great, can I eat it?

No. Please don't eat any of our products...!

Are your shaving products only for use on legs?

Absolutely not. Of course shaving your legs is a choice, but you can shave absolutely any part of your body and use both of our shaving products to get an incredibly close and comfortable shave.

What is the soothing gel for?

The original purpose of the soothing gel was to be applied to the saddle area. However over time, we've found that it is the perfect ailment to alleviate aches and pains across your body, from shoulders, to legs, and everywhere in between. It's even useful on sunburn and chilblains.

However, please be careful when applying to sensitive areas and cracked skin as this product contains menthol which can cause a tingling sensation.

My order hasn't arrived yet, where is it?

Most orders are shipped same day, so you can expect UK deliveries to take typically, between 3-5 days. During Covid-19 times, we have seen long delays, which are sadly beyond our control. Please see our deliveries page for more information. Please email us at hello@veloskin.cc with any concerns about your order and we will help as best we can.

Can I return my products?

For obvious reasons, we cannot accept returns on used products. Please see our returns page for more details on what we can accept.

Where is the best place to store my Veloskin products?

Typically, they're best stored in a cool and dry environment. Some of us store them next to the bed, some on the windowsill in the bathroom, others are in the cabinet. Storing in a warm environment or in direct sunlight may adjust the composition of the product(s) and cause the natural ingredients to breakdown.

There is something wrong with my product, what should I do?

In the unlikely event that your product doesn't look, smell or feel right compared to a product you've bought from us before, drop us a line at hello@veloskin.cc and we'll be glad to look into that for you.

Please refer to the bottom of your tin or inside of the product box, for the five digit batch number and provide your order number in your email.

Are your products suitable for Vegans?

Yes!! All of them are suitable for vegans!

How should I store my products?

Our products are best stored, yep, you guessed it, in cool and dry place. If things get too hot, you might have difficulty with the products.

We have an entirely British Supply Chain, from our tins to our boxes and all the ingredients that formulate everything good about Veloskin, it's all British! We also ship directly from our storage facility in the UK.

Is your packaging sustainable?

Yes. Our tins, jars or even containers, whatever you want to refer to them as, are made of aluminium and can be recycled as well as our cardboard boxes that your delivery arrives in. You may also receive packing peanuts with your order, but don't worry, they're made of potato starch and they will eventually dissolve in water. Give it a try and let us know!
